Played with zines for the first time
Zines are a new genre for me.
Decided to play with the slightly chaotic conventions of this form of publication. I spent a disproportionately long time on that, but I like the result, honestly. The very fact that there is a result is a tiny victory for me, already. It's fun.
Almost like a presentation, but it's definitely not a backdrop for a speaker — I would say, something closer to a doodle for a listener.
You can see the whole thing here, if you'd like.
Once again, my key challenge is thinking in the direction of illustration. I tend to automatically try to insert everything I have nice, at once.
All the colours I like.
Thinking about playing with something small and object-led further.
For now, my shortlist is as follows:
- kefir
- changing robe for surfers (as a winter coat)
- hot water bottle
- fake fireplaces
- pencil sharpeners
- cobbled streets
- cappuccino and pastel de nata.
God, I surprisingly like trying NOT to be serious!
(If you saw me when I was 5 or 6 years old, you would understand why this “trying” was being used here. )
