Today’s sketch: Christmas steps, Bristol
Christmas Steps is a historic street in Bristol.
It consists mainly of steps, as it is clear from the second part of its name. As for the first part, they say, it comes from the medieval "Knifesmith Street" (this "k" was not silent) that transformed over time into something more festive.
Nowadays, it is picturesque enough to be worth climbing, serving as a location for some fancy shops.
As an additional fact, there is also an instrumental track by Scottish post-rock group Mogwai that is named after the street.
Have always been a fan of some nice steps. And bridges.
